OUR Foster has been ADOPTED!

We are so honored to say, Stella has officially been adopted. We are so emotional and it's going to feel very empty without her. However, this is what fostering is all about. We save a dog from a bad situation, rehabilitate them and get them into homes where they'll thrive for the rest of their lives.

Where did Stella come from?

After new years, we saw a post on IG of an owner giving away puppies. When I contacted the owner, they told me they were moving into a new place that "didn't allow dogs." They never specified that they were attempting to dump the mom at the shelter. As we uncovered her story, we quickly knew, we HAD to step in.

Stella is only 1 year old. She quickly became a mother to 7 puppies and shortly after, was going to be abandoned. Discarded like trash. When we arrived on scene, there were only 2 puppies left and the mommy. They were all kept outside in a small, closed area. Stella, with her stomach dragging on the floor, greeted me with a wagging tail. Without a plan, without knowing her tolerance around other dogs, without knowing anything, we got her and the 2 remaining puppies and did NOT look back.

When we arrived home, I let her decompress and then slowly evaluated her with my pups. We did proper introductions outside the house first and worked our way into our house one dog at a time. Once we all became comfortable with each other, we started to implement training and getting her ready for adoption. The puppies were quickly placed in a foster-to-adopt and successfully got adopted by loving homes.

During her stay with us, we made sure she was fully vetted before going to her forever home. Fast forward to today, she is vetted, she is trained, she is healthy, she is a happy go lucky pup. Never to be abused. Never to be neglected. Never to be abandoned. Never to be used for breeding. She will be living her best life.

Fostering is bittersweet. She will be missed tremendously. This isn't a goodbye, this is a see yeah later!
